Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports today in the United States. A good example of this is how it is growing at South Kent. The team has many new players this year to add to the roster, which was considerably smaller last year.

Even with the small-rostered team they put together last year, the team had a great season. Lacrosse made it to the HVAL championship last year, although the team lost to Chase, which is still a game that is talked about on campus

With hopes to have another great season, there are many returning players that know how to do so. Returnees such as CJ Blazska, Danny Paster, Curran Forgue, Jack Riley,Cody Champange, Joe Zaccara, and Cam Loomis all know what it will take to have a good season.

“We had a good season last year with real good players, but this year with all new guys I think we have a good chance at a real strong season,” said Danny Paster, a captain of the squad.

With all these returnees, the team has a good core to start from. Adding into these core players are many new skilled players. With the addition of Ben Welton, Jabrille Williams, Derek Curr, Joe Manno, Ryan McClane, Myles McFadden, Cole Karklins, Charles Wang, and Luc Chatelain the team has depth to the bench.

“I like the sport, it’s a lot of fun and I like hanging out with all the guys on the team. It’s been a fun season,” Danny said.

It isn’t only the players that create the team and this year’s team has two returning coaches. Coach Dillon Duncan, a former Cardinal laxer, and Coach Scott Farley are both well qualified lacrosse coaches. Coach Farley gained much experience though club lacrosse at Stanford, learning many things he has passed onto the South Kent team. Coach Duncan, also experienced, learned many things here at South Kent that has improved the defense of this year’s team.
